Seven-piece Brighton-based band Flip Top Head have released their latest semi-indescribable tune, ‘Intro 98’. The menagerie of unique sounds that sit at the forefront of their music pushes them close to post-rock, but they acknowledge inspiration from indie with moments of impressive melody and wander into surreal territory with unexpected, almost orchestral arrangements. “Bertie’s lyrics came as a reflection of the motions and the fear and anxiety of starting a new project; digesting the new musical dynamic balance internally and the shift of roles and ideas to create something new - positively speaking,” the band say, on their first track written as a band.
